Overview
Eternal Oasis is a permanent cultural hub in the Moroccan Sahara celebrating nomadic traditions. Designed to “float” on shifting dunes, the structure uses topological interlocking clay blocks that adapt to sand movement without rigid foundations. Extensive prototyping and sandbox testing informed the final intersecting circular wall system with parabolic profiles for structural balance. Local, low-tech brick production is imperative for the project. Due to the complex geometry, the form is 3D-printed in Sweden and then shipped to Morocco, where it is easily filled with clay by local manufacturers. The project creates a series of atmospheric spaces for trade, storytelling, and gathering—an architectural beacon embedded within the desert landscape.
