Overview
Lunar Testlab envisions a gradually expanding lunar settlement structured like a nested “Babushka Doll,” where layered protection defines habitable space. At its core are pods containing living quarters, laboratories, and greenhouses, surrounded by a protective void and a self-assembling 3D-printed outer membrane. Based on origami principles, the membrane shields against radiation and micrometeorites while supporting oxygen and water production.
Team: Monika Brandić Lipińska, Laura Olivier, Lize Inci Ogun
The project was a winning entry in the Moontopia competition and exhibited at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, UK.
